Sunday’s golf event was the Lockhart/Storm sponsored June Monthly Mug. The pins in difficult positions, combined with fast greens, made scoring very difficult for most golfers. Two players who excelled on the day were the Monthly Mug winner, Wade Turner who returned a very good score of 79-nett and the daily winner, Justin Moxey with an 81-nett. In the ball run-down Steve Power, Geoff Phillips, Gordon Cleal and David Smith all received a ball.

The pin shots for the day went to Tommy Kilner on the third, Justin Moxey on the fifth and the ninth green was too elusive. This week’s mystery draw was sponsored by Craig Lockhart and Warwick Storm and the balls went to Richard Gray, Billy Reardon and John McDonald.

The 4BBB Matchplay draw is on the board in the clubhouse and Round 1 is to be completed by 30th June. The Individual Matchplay will commence in July with names to be in by Friday 2nd July for the draw to be done.

On Thursday 10th June the annual Rotary Golf Day will be held. This is a 2-person Ambrose with all participants receiving a prize on the day. Contact the club for any more details.

The golf events over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend are an Individual Stableford on Sunday and a 4BBB Stableford Medley on Monday with both events starting at 12 o’clock.

A revised Pennants Draw has been done and the first game will be at Bingara on 27th June against Narrabri. Anyone wishing to represent Warialda please contact Captain Shark.

This week’s ‘some old, some new, but all funny and true!’ quote is from American Bishop, Fulton J Sheen: “Man blames fate for all other accidents but feels personally responsible when he makes a hole-in-one.”
