FROSTY MORNINGS MAKE THE COURSE RUN QUICKER – 4/6/21

Contributed by Dave Coulton, Vets Captain

Firstly, apologies for missing the results from Friday 28th May but an unco-operative computer was the problem and that has now been rectified, so again apologies to those that didn’t get their name in print for that week.

This week’s report is enabled by the expert services of a young man who sorted out my computer problem, thanks Anthony.

Al Campbell showed a return to form to take home the chook for Joan with a good score of 28 points. The runner up position had to go to a two-way countdown when Tiger Cleal and Bob Watters both returned 26 points. After the “exhaustive” countback procedure Bob was the recipient of the runners-up balls. Tiger led in the ball competition and then another “exhaustive” countback was required for the last two balls when three players returned with 24 points. Dave Moor’s 9 points for the last three holes got him the second rundown ball then many calculations were required to split Lex Roberts and Phil O’Keeffe with Lex getting the nod eventually for the final ball. Phil didn’t miss out entirely as he picked up the putting ball with 20 putts.

Nearest the Pins went the way of Phil O’Keeffe (3rd); Jim Lucas’s best shot of the day got him the (5th) and nobody managed to keep one on the 9th.

Alan Campbell carried out the mystery ball draw and after a few attempts Lionel Cleal came out of the pack.

Just a reminder that our annual Warialda Vets Open day will take place on Thursday 17th June 2021.

Next Friday (11th June) will be another Individual stableford event with a shotgun start at 2:00pm.
