Shipping Containers

Use of Shipping Containers in the Gwydir Shire is regulated by this policy. Use of shipping containers in the village areas require development consent. There are some exemptions for their use on land zoned primary production, RU1, but the policy needs to be checked to assure the exemptions apply. Placing a shipping container on a property without the proper approval or without an applicable exemption may result in the council taking compliance action including, but not limited to, issuing a penalty infringement notice (fine).
