Gravesend Water Update

Last week chlorine levels in the Gravesend water supply were increased following changes in water quality entering the water reticulation system. While Council acknowledges this may have caused amenity issues for the residents of Gravesend, Council’s routine testing, along with additional testing carried out while flushing mains did not show any tests with chlorine concentrations higher than 3.5mg /L. The Australian Drinking Water Guidelines have an upper limit for chlorine concentration of 5mg/L. The situation continues to be monitored and updates will be provided should the current conditions change.
