Council wishes to advise Bingara residents that a mechanical failure overnight has resulted in a temporary chlorine spike in the town water supply.

Hourly testing of the water has confirmed that chlorine concentration remains well within the limits specified in the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG). However, residents may notice a stronger than usual chlorine smell in their tap water and possible discolouration due to the oxidation of manganese.

Council reassures the community that the water remains safe to drink, and NSW Health have been advised of the increased levels.

Water operations staff are working to resolve the issue and water quality will return to normal shortly.
