 Engineering Department Update
Fortnight Beginning 4 May 2026
Our teams have been busy across the Shire with road maintenance, water and sewer works, and construction progress. Here is a snapshot of what we have been working on:
️ Grading Works - Graders have been active on Croppa Creek, Gwydir Highway, North Star, Yallaroi, Peates, Noumea, Reserve
Creek, Glenarthur, and Adam Scrub Roads
️ Bitumen Jetpatching Repairs - Jetpatchers have repaired surfaces on Warialda, Cranky Rock, North Star, Blue Nobby, Baroma Downs, Killarney Gap, and Elcombe Roads along with various town streets.
Over the past two weeks, Council’s water and sewer crews have completed a wide range of maintenance across the region. This included sewer pump and main repairs, clearing blockages, water meter and service line work, and vacuum truck jobs in Warialda, and at the golf course in Bingara. Crews also continued repairs at the sewage treatment plant, attended to hot water and facility issues at community sites, delivered water and sewer samples for testing, installed new dump point signage, and carried out repairs in North Star and Warialda. Additional work included a hot water unit replacement, chlorine dosing pump repairs and maintenance at the truckwash facility.
Level 3 water restrictions remain in place for North Star, Warialda and Gravesend.
