Bingara Landfill Access and Terms of Use

Location: 2668 Killarney Gap Road, Bingara, NSW - 2404

Operating Hours:

  • Open: 8:30am to 12:00 noon, 1:30pm to 5:30pm (Monday to Sunday)
  • Closed: 12:00 noon to 1:30pm (Monday to Sunday)

Access:

  • For Gwydir Shire ratepayers and residents only. Unauthorized use will be prosecuted.
  • Ensure enough time to drop off waste before closing.
  • Centre may close during wet weather, emergencies, or poor visibility.

Terms of Use:

  • Sort waste into designated areas: general waste, DrumMuster by appointment, petroleum and vegetable-based oils, trash and treasure/reusable items, green waste, metals and bicycles, mattresses and lounges, tyres, offal/dead animal pit, ash, wood and timber, concrete, bricks and tiles, plasterboard, e-waste, cardboard, recyclables, batteries, paint, properly wrapped asbestos.
  • Household chemical collection every 2 years.
  • Follow all signs and directions from staff.
  • Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times.
  • Penalties exceeding $200 for non-compliance.
  • Asbestos: Free asbestos bags and disposal at Bingara & Warialda Landfills during opening hours. Must be wrapped. Penalties apply for unwrapped asbestos or removal over 10m² without a license.

Prohibited Items and Disposal Locations:

  • Hazardous Waste: Not accepted.
  • Clinical Waste: Not accepted.
  • Liquid Waste: Not accepted.

Additional Notes:

  • Visitors must obey signs and directions from staff.
  • No scavenging or removal of materials.
  • Children, animals, and pets must remain in vehicles.
  • No smoking or lighting fires permitted.
  • Help keep the facilities tidy to avoid increased disposal charges.

Return and Earn:

  • Drop off eligible containers for a refund at Bingara IGA & Hardware, 41-45 Maitland Street, Bingara, NSW - 2404 (use hardware entrance on Cunningham Street).
